The New Beauty in the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro

When you learn that Chevrolet teamed up with the GM luxury brand Cadillac to create models that benefited both brands it’s easy to understand that new feeling of the Camaro that shares a variety of engineering features of the ATS from Cadillac.  With that in mind it’s easy to understand why the new Camaro is more like a luxury sports car than a full on muscle car.  Whatever the full features of the Camaro turn out to be this car is redesigned and much better than ever with some new powertrains and a much better athletic stance in a look that we have become used to from the past generation.

When it’s a muscle or sports car we discuss, the first part should always be about the power under the hood.  For the Camaro the power starts at a level that is lower than you might expect.  This is possible because the car has a lower weight and the engine uses turbocharging to bring us a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque.  This makes for a car that has good power and a dynamic feel.  This will certainly be the fuel efficiency powertrain, but can also make your driving fun in this new Camaro.

The next level of power comes from a 3.6-liter V6 engine which shows up with 335 horsepower and 284 lb.-ft. of torque.  This will give you a power that is certainly worthy of some track time and will be a lot of fun to drive.  At the top level, the SS comes in using a 6.2-liter V8 with 455 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft. of torque giving us the most powerful Camaro ever.  With two transmissions, a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic to bring about the best performance possible from the powertrains offered in this awesome new muscle car.

As a new model the Camaro offers you the same basic look, but a smaller, lighter and more engaging chassis to make for a better overall drive.  Finally you see a Camaro that can balance power and fuel mileage with the four-cylinder engine but also give you an awesome and powerful ride while moving up the powertrains.  With this change in size and dynamics you will have a muscle car that is more capable of awesome handling than ever before which is perfect for driving and enjoying the awesome features that make up the new Camaro.

In many ways the Camaro used to be a car that was based on racing with very few creature comforts which was fine for the racing that the Camaro was built for, but not for today’s drivers.  We want to have a car that offers the features that let us enjoy the drive and have all the equipment we need and a comfortable ride and this new Camaro does just that.  With excellent new features on the inside this car is much better than before from the standpoint of comfort and control.

ON the outside the Camaro is now more engaging than ever.  This car continues to offer the muscular and athletic stance along with the sporty look that makes the Camaro one of the most attractive cars that you can drive.  Adding the thin headlights, aggressive and wide build and the low roof the car is a mean and lean power machine to drive on the road or on the track.  In both cases this new Camaro is certainly a head turner and will make many flock to the dealerships looking for their next favorite piece of Americana.

After checking out the new interior and exterior you can certainly understand the fun and hope the Camaro can deliver.  This car is one that absolutely delivers every time and a loss of 200 pounds or more makes a huge difference in the power quotient along with the fact the car is smaller in every way by at least an inch.  This gives you a car that is more active from the driving position.  With a chassis and suspension that has been inspired by the Cadillac ATS you can take the drive you want with a car that handles more like a luxury model than the sports car that the Camaro certainly is.

With many sports cars the price ends up at a level that cannot be affordable, but the Camaro is no such vehicle.  The base price for this awesome car starts at $26,700 which is actually less than the base Camaro from 2015.  Moving up to the V6 in the LT model the price will move up $1,500 for the engine and another $1,500 for the eight-speed automatic transmission.  At the V8 level the SS will start around $37,300 which is extremely affordable for all the power involved.  Of course the prices can go up, but this car is one of the most affordable and recognizable sports machines on the market.

Looking to the base model the standard equipment for the 1Lt includes a seven-inch touchscreen audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two USB ports, an Auxiliary input, the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot from the OnStar system, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, cruise control, a color driver information display, push button starting, keyless entry, power driver and passenger seats, a leather wrapped steering wheel, a Driver Select Mode, multiple airbags and stability control to give you a car that is amazing to drive even at the base level.

The options for this car include the upgrades to the various powertrains along with an audio system with a larger screen, an improved driver information center, a magnetic ride control suspension, a power sunroof, an in dash navigation system and a dual mode exhaust system.  With all these awesome features and the added power it’s easy to see how much fun driving the Camaro can be for you to love this car on the road and unleash it on the track.  When you are looking for an awesome car that can be your weekend sportster or your awesome daily driver, the Camaro makes one of the best choices on the market.
